Gx series of CCD cameras with USB interface require installation of system driver. Newly released driver pack for all series of Gx camera contains drivers for both 32 and 64 bit Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7). All drivers are digitally signed, which is required for drivers to be installed on 64 bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. |
A file with drivers for all currently available Gx CCD cameras can be downloaded here. The file must be unpacked first (downloaded file is a ZIP archive). Every driver is in a separate folder. Folder name corresponds to camera type, name extension determines target operating system type:
Remark: G2 revision 3 and higher CCD cameras are software compatible with newly released series of G3 cameras, so they use the same drivers. For instance a driver for G2-4000 camera is g3ccdi, the same like for the G3-11000. Drivers for G2/G3 cameras are of two types, depending on the used CCD detector architecture. The g3ccdi driver is intended for CCD cameras with Kodak KAI CCDs, g3ccdf for cameras with Kodak KAF CCDs. Completely separate driver g2sx1400 is intended for G2-1400 camera with Sony ICX285 CCD. Microsoft started to require digital signature on all drivers, which work as a part of operating system kernel, with the introduction 64 bit version of Windows Vista. Digital signature ensures the user that the code was not altered or damaged after it was released by the manufacturer. Driver, which is not signed, cannot be loaded and used within this operating system. This administrative rule applies also to 64 bit version of Windows 7 and very probably will apply to all future Windows systems. This is why all Moravian Instruments drivers, released in 2010 and later, are digitally signed. |
