BOOTES-1B is an independent robotic observatory with a 30 cm aperture telescope dedicated to simultaneous and follow-up optical observations of high-energy transient cosmic phenomena, such as Gamma-Ray bursts, Soft gamma repeaters, Supernova and similar. Further objective is a study of variable stars, active galaxies or nearby minor planets. The telescope is located at the atmospheric sounding station (Estación de Sondeos Atmosféricos—ESAt, INTA) of El Arenosillo in Andalucía, Spain. A nearby, older dome (BOOTES-1A) is used for complementary wider angle instruments. Mr. Martin Jelínek inside the BOOTES-1B observatory The telescope uses Linux based RTS2 as an observing system since 2003. All G2, G3 and G4 cameras are supported by RTS2 software package since 2010, so the cooled, slow-scan CCD camera G2-1600 replaced the previously used camera on BOOTES-1B telescope and is now used as the main imaging camera.
